Welcome to Knit Vlog No. 3 convalescing, caffeine, and a cowl

If you cannot get the video to play for you at the top of this post, you may watch it over on YouTube by following this link:  https://youtu.be/8wavj-0e210

This post was created to share some of the links for the things I've talked about in this past week's vlog and also to introduce this latest harebrained scheme idea and share it with all of you.

Enjoy!

EPISODE NOTES:

In this episode I mentioned ...

... the preemie hats that I am knitting. My original goal was to knit a dozen hats but then my seven year old challenged me to knit 100 preemie hats in 2016, so I'm going to see just how many I can work up this year. Right now I'm working on number 13.

Here is the link to the Preemie Hat pattern that I am using.

... while the kids were doing their reading for homeschool, I sat and listened and knit on a pair of socks. Sock knitting is my go-to for keeping my hands busy when I need to sit and listen to a child practice reading.

The yarn for this particular pair is in the Octopus' Garden colorway, so I call them the Octopus' Garden socks to differentiate them from the other four pairs of socks I currently have on the needles. (Anyone notice how that number is going up?) The yarn was purchased from Voolenvine Yarns.

Here is a link where I share how I like to knit my socks using small circular needles.

And, did you see? Very Pink Knitting has a video tutorial sharing how to knit socks on small circular needles and it is really comprehensive and easy to follow, as all of her tutorials are.

... I also worked on the Zig Zag blanket for Lucy and her baby dolls. I'm using yarn that a friend gave to me and my daughter picked out all of the pinks and purples from the two huge bags I was gifted. Lucy picks out a new color every time I'm ready to knit a new stripe and we are thinking that it will end up just the right size for her to use with her doll stroller.

... I have a finished object this week, in addition to the two preemie hats you saw me finish in the vlog. I finished my Gold Leaf Cowl.

Here are the details:
- Ravely link for the project
- Yarn is Gold Leaf from Lion Brand
- Needles are Knitter Pride Dreamz fixed circular size US 15 10.00mm
- pattern can be found here at Ewe Knit Toronto

Okay, I think that is it for the week, friends. I've written out all I can think of that I mentioned in the current vlog. I'm rather new at this note keeping for a youTube video thing, so you might have to be patient with me until I figure out a good system for getting these corresponding blog posts up with the vlogs each week.

Thanks for watching and for coming over to check out the blog!
